Baby Quilt Patterns

If you are looking for baby quilt patterns you've come to the right place. Baby quilts are probably the most common type of quilt made. You or someone you know is having a baby and you want to make a quilt for them. You are not alone. Between grandkids and kids of friends my mother-in-law makes around 20 baby quilts a year.

Now comes the hard part, deciding what to make. If you are short on time, a cuddly blanket will work great. Just pick up some fleece or flannel and in a short time you have a great homemade gift. If you have some more time and want to make something more elaborate a traditional pieced quilt is just the ticket. Pieced quilts can be simple and cute or they can be elaborate and gorgeous, often referred to as heirloom quality.

Baby quilts are also a great way to practice quilt making techniques. They are smaller than bed quilts so they cost less for materials. Best of all, babies will love any quilt as long as it's soft and cuddly so they won't judge you if you make mistakes. If you want to make baby sized quilts but don't know anyone to give them too there are lots of groups who are looking for baby quilt donations.
